Phonics

New sound – “ai” 

Use the homework jotter to make an “ai’’ mind map. Try finding at least FOUR of your own words to include on the mind map. Please write four sentences with any of the ai words in your homework jotter. Remember to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. Please learn for Friday!!

Reading

Reading books will be given out on a Monday and Thursday. Please encourage your child to read their book every night and ask inferential questions about the book. Please sign the diary to show this has been done.

Our Big Maths Targets this week are as follows:

C– Counting: Counting Multiples: Counting in 10’s

L– Learn It’s: 4+2=6 and 5+2=7

I– It’s Nothing New:  Doubling numbers 6, 7, 8, 9

C– Calculations: (Multiplication) I can find the total amount of blocks- Set out 4 sets of 3 blocks and find the total

Pupil of the Week 13-03-2015

Our Pupil of the Week this week was Kian. He was super helpful and honest when he found a ball belonging to a girl in our class. He has also shown a very positive attitude towards school this week!!

CLIC sessions – 16/3/15

C – counting in halves and 0.5’s and rounding 2dp numbers to nearest whole number

L – multiplying 2d x 2d numbers and find a division fact by combining SMILE multiplication and a tables fact

I – Dividing decimals  by 10  and smile multiplication for hundredths

C – adding large numbers and subtracting hundredths

I – We can double multiples of 10

C – We can subtract 1 from any number up to 20
